March 2014 Pet of the Month
Meet Our March 2014 Pet of the Month
Justice was an incredibly kind and gentle soul. Tracy and her mother had 14 wonderful years with this amazing English Mastiff. Always eager to do whatever it took to please you. Justice was a 200 pound lump of unconditional love that never quite grasped the gravity of his size. He loved to sit on Tracy’s lap as well as run and wrestle in the yard. He could run you over like a steam roller and apologize with the sincerest and gentlest of kisses. His bark could send strangers and solicitors running but he was scared of his own shadow.

Once I thought we would need a crowbar to pry him out of the spread eagle pose he fell into when he caught the new frog planter out of the corner of his eye. He had strut that said “there’s no place I’d rather be” and could sling slobber in places you didn’t know you had places. He was a great pillow and a warm blanket in a pinch. He could make you laugh so hard and he knew just how to comfort you when you cried. He was so big and strong but it only took a stern look to crush him. His presence made you feel safe and calm even on the scariest night (just don’t let there be thunder because he could knock a door down to end up in your lap shaking like Chihuahua.) His passing left a hole too large to be measured. It was a privilege to have cared for, and learned from, such a pure and giving soul.
Rest in peace JJ.
