Summary

Sitters contracted by Luv My Sitter can either be classified as a mid day dog walker, a Pet Sitter, a House Sitter, an Adventure Specialist or any combination of the four positions. This is based on your availability and what services you’re interested in offering to our Luv My Sitter clients’.

The Luv My Sitter service area is broken down into quadrants. Each Sitter/Walker is assigned to clients that reside within the areas they choose to service. To start, we will plug you in where we can until you build up your book of business in your area.

We keep our sitters assignments as close to their “home base” as possible to increase their profits. The usual travel distance is 2.5 to 10 miles with max distance of 15 miles… unless they have agreed to travel further.

Note: For house sitting assignments, sitters can travel further because their “home base” is the client’s home.

Mid-Day Walkers build their regular schedules by either inheriting the walks of another sitter who is no longer able to offer their services to Luv My Sitter, or by adding on new clients that sign-up for service. Our regular mid-day clients retain the same “walker” until their relationship with Luv My Sitter ends or until the walker is no longer contracted by Luv My Sitter. Our walkers visit their same clients in their route Monday thru Friday based on clients booking schedule.

Pet Sitters are chosen as the “Primary sitter” for a client by the service area that they cover and by their availability submitted to the Luv My Sitter database. After a sitter is assigned as the “primary sitter,” Luv My Sitter will make every attempt to book the same sitter for the client for subsequent bookings. If the primary sitter is unavailable, then Luv My Sitter will assign a secondary sitter to the assignment using the same protocol as explained above. A client may choose to meet with any back-up/secondary sitter, or they may choose to have a phone conversation, or they may just ask that Luv My Sitter send the sitter without introduction.

The same protocol is followed for assigning HOUSE SITTERS as the “primary sitter.”

Adventure specialists adhere to a “primary specialist” protocol and provide all adventure outings for clients regardless of sitter designation. After a sitter is assigned to a client as their “Adventure Specialist,” Luv My Sitter will make every attempt to book the same specialist for all subsequent adventure outings. If the primary specialist is unavailable, then Luv My Sitter will assign a secondary specialist to the outing using the same protocol as explained above. A client may choose to meet with any back-up/secondary specialist, or they may choose to have a phone conversation, or they may just ask that Luv My Sitter send the Specialist without introduction.

While Luv My Sitter team members do their best to cover in cases of emergencies, this is not a job where “calling in sick” is tolerated. The pets on your care depend on you to complete your assignments and (1) no-call; no-show is cause for immediate termination of assignments.

Working as an Independent Contractor

Luv My Sitter chooses to work with independent contractors (IC’s) to perform the pet care duties outlined by our customers. An independent contractor is someone who runs his or her own business. IC’s are able to work for many companies at the same time.

As an independent contractor you’re paid a per sit rather than an hourly rate. 2-3 sits can be completed each hour.

      • Initially you receive $10 for each pet sitting assignment, registration meeting and pre-departure meeting.
      • You receive $50 for each overnight stay.
      • Rates for premium services vary and are charged a premium rate so your compensation for these services will be reflective of the greater charge.

For a more complete list of Services and Rates go to

Please note that service rates listed are subject to change and not all clients pay the listed rates. Service rate adjustment can be less than or greater than those listed on our services page depending on the client’s specific situation and length of time serviced by Luv My Sitter.

Long-Term Relationship

Luv My Sitter is interested in working with individuals who want to build a long-term relationship with our company and its clients. It’s NOT a good position for those trying to find interim work while in-between jobs or trying to “figure-out” what their next step is. Our clients come to trust their assigned pet care specialist and appreciate it when they’re able to grow a trusted relationship with that person.

Earning Potential

How much you can make is directly dependent on your drive and  availability.

      • High -Tier performers: These are our sitters who have a lot of availability and are able to do many pet sitting visits, dog walks and overnight stays. Their earnings range from $1000-$1500 every 2 weeks
      • Mid-Tier performer: These are the sitters who have more limited availability but still handle many assignments. Their earnings are generally around $500-$1000 every 2 weeks

When my dog Haley was diagnosed with diabetes I was so afraid to take her home where I would have to give her insulin injections. My vet recommended I call Tracy. She could have easily taken advantage of my situation but instead she came to my home and taught me how to give the injections easily. After several visits both Haley and I are vey relaxed when it’s time for her injections.

- Leslie P.

Before my veterinarian recommended us to Tracy my husband and I hadn’t seen a movie in a theater or been to dinner out in over 4 years. Vacations were absolutely out of the question due to our Mazey’s medical issues. Luv My Sitter has not only been a breath of fresh air but has given us our life back. It took a few test trips, but we are so comfortable and pleased with the care Mazey receives we truly feel like we have a new lease on life. Thanks to Tracy we are planning a vow renewal and second honeymoon. Maui here we come!

Who knew in home care could make such a difference. I have always boarded my dogs but the kennel had a waiting list the weekend my Dad passed away. My vet told me to call Tracy at Luv My Sitter. Although apprehensive of the though of people being in my home while I was away I felt I had no choice. Admittedly, I was a bit relieved they could care for the dogs. The updates, coupled with the photos and videos, were so comforting. I could see that my dogs were very content and happy. They did a great job not only caring for my pets but also preventing me from having to worry about home. I am a convert. I will continue to use Luv My Sitter whenever I need to be away.

- Maggie B.

Worth every penny and more.

- Bill S.

I think my pets love Tracy more than me. They’re always so excited to see her and you can tell she really cares about them. I have had several pet sitters in the past and Tracy is by far the best. So glad my vet recommended her.

- Cheryl H.

Tracy saved my skin! A few years back my wife and I were having Tracy stay at our house with our dogs while we attended our sons wedding in Virginia. It was during the wedding rehearsal that my troubles began. I had forgotten the rings, not in the room but at home, in my safe. I swallowed deeply tried to cover my panic. At my first opportunity I excused myself and immediately called Tracy. Fortunately, she was able to retrieve the rings from the safe, race to the Fed Ex station (despite my directions) before they closed and get them over-nighted to me. I can not tell you how relieved I was when the package arrived 2 hours before the ceremony. We will never board our dogs again.

- Russ G.

I don’t have any animals but I do use Tracy as a house sitter and let me tell you what, it has been worth every penny. This summer while we were abroad Tracy was coming by checking on my home, picking up the paper, bringing in the mail watering my plants, that sort of thing. On the fourth day of our 10 day trip Tracy noticed our automatically sprinkler was leaking water. Austin was in the midst of strict water restrictions at the time so she called me and let me know there was a problem. I told her where to find the number to the sprinkler guy and she called him and had it repaired before we returned. I can’t imagine what my water bill would have been when I go t back not to mention the fines I would have received from the city. My advice to anyone going out of town for any length time, call her! You never know what might happen.

- Frank M.

My vet recommended Tracy to me. I have a 9 year old Samoyed, that I call Nonie who has a pretty severe seizure disorder. Before Nonie was diagnosed with her disorder I was a very active person and for awhile nothing changed. Gradually my schedule became more and more restrictive due to Nonie’s changing medication schedule. Finally when she began to needs medication for times a day I found myself planning my life around Nonie. I love her but my boss was beginning to feel my absence in the afternoon and at times when he needed me to work late. Although I hadn’t really thought much about it until then, I missed my active life too. That’s when I called Tracy. She was able to come by in the afternoon and on occasion at night to give Nonie her medication so that I didn’t have to leave work. Also with Tracy’s help I have been able to resume girl’s night out. I drink a few less drinks to pay for it but I try not to look at that as a bad thing.

- Andrea D.

I will never book late again! I had known for weeks I was going out of town but procrastinated letting Tracy know my plans. When I finally got around to calling she informed me she was booked. NO THIS CANT BE! She said she would take a look at the schedule and see if there was anything she could rearrange. That was the longest hour of my life. Its not that I didn’t have other options, its just that when Tracy is caring for my pets I notice I am more relaxed and I don’t feel the need to worry. She keeps me in the loop and I am able to enjoy my time away. I sighed a huge sigh of relief when she was able to book me and all was well.

- Tran N.

I really don’t want to give away my secret but Tracy is the best pet sitter I have ever had. She is professional, reliable, knowledgeable and you can really tell she loves animals.
